Caves Ambacia

Wonderful tour for our small group in English. Learned lots about how to describe and identify wines and about the different wine regions in France. Enjoyed the choice of wines to taste and pairing. Short walk from the chateau amboise if you are visiting it before or after.

Wonderfully welcoming and helpful guide introduced us to red and white wines of the Loire valley. The cellar temperature of 13C was a bonus on a warm summer’s day. Great tasting of many wines with excellent explanations too. After the tour, lunch outside under parasols overlooking the beautiful river. Wine prices seem a little high for the quality, except the Sancerre which is superb. All in all, very highly recommended.

Caves Ambacia is wonderful place to learn about wines in Loire Valley. If you happen to be guided by Francois, you are in for a treat. He is such a great storyteller.

Our guide was a true professional.

Le guide est bon pédagogue, il partage ses connaissances de manière simple et ludique. Très agréable. Visite à recommander pour une découverte des vins de Loire.

We did several wine tasting tours in Val de Loire and also Bourgogne but this one was definitely the most engaging and fun as well as informative. The guide (who's name I have forgotten!) was excellent and gave us just the right amount of detail without overloading us. The tasting and suggestions of cheese and food pairing were really helpful. And it is wonderfully cool in the cellars (it was 40C outside!). 100% worth it but book ahead.

The experience is a must!
