About the winery

The Alfred Gratien Champagne House was founded in Epernay in 1864, and the same line of cellar masters has been perpetuating and passing on a traditional know-how for four generations: rigorous selection of grapes from the best vintages, respect for the terroirs, vinification in small oak barrels and production of limited volumes. Great champagne and cheese pairing

An excellent experience with a very knowledgeable guide who shared the fascinating story of Alfred Gratien. The cheese pairing was absolutely amazing and added a perfect touch to the tasting!

Had a really wonderful tour and tasting at Alfred Gratien! Felt really welcome, the tour and history was really interesting, and the champagne tasting afterwards was delicious. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our tasting experience at Alfred Gratien quite a lot! The girl who welcomed us was just amazing - perfect English, very positive attitude, great knowledge and super kind. The champagne house is not one of the biggest but their champagne is definitely one of the best that we have tried! We were also very happy that we could visit the champagne house on Sunday (some of the champagne houses in Epernay were closed on Sunday). And finally, a great benefit for us was that they had a charging station for electric cars that we could use while taking the tour.
